About me

Welcome to my page!

I was born in Ukraine and finished my education in computer science. My job allowed me to travel a lot, which is why I moved to Poland to see how life is different when you are not a tourist. Curiosity is what always was driving me in my life.

Also, curiosity allowed me to see things that are usually hidden from people. Exploring new places I started doing travel photography. After some time, photography became not just a hobby but a part of my life.

I moved to the USA in 2017 and in 2019 I was diagnosed with cancer. I spent a lot of time at home alone. Photography played the role of art therapy that helped me to overcome the biggest challenge in my life and accept changes that were happening to my body during treatment. I often do self-portraiture and love to use the naked body in my photos to show the fragile part of being a human.

In 2022 I finished certification in photography from UCLA, California and continued my journey in photography.

My focus is on conservation photography and environmental issues. As a photographer, I am exploring the connection between humans and the environment to show that we are one part of a big ecosystem, and by destroying our planet we destroy our future first. Therefore, a lot of my photos do not evoke positive emotions and feelings. I am trying to predict the worst-case scenario of what can happen, some sort of apocalypse. I hope this will make viewers think about the question – what can I do today to prevent an environmental disaster tomorrow? I choose conceptual photography because it is a powerful tool to voice my concerns and protect our planet.

While photographing people, I am always looking for candid moments to create art and capture memories. I have strong believe that every person is beautiful and I just need to use photographic techniques and appropriate light to highlight the beauty.

Exhibitions: my work were presented in group exhibition in Los Angeles Downtown Art District.
